arghhhhh BES server

Since our migration of our BES server to 4.1, it's been 5 times since then that the BES stopped routing\processing any documents(mail, calendar, etc).
In the morning, we arrive and the server isn't processign anything. The Domino server (7.0.3FP2) is up, all the BBerry services are (seems to be) up too. Nothing particular in the Notes log. Nothing special in the event viewer at the time. We are not able to kill the BES server, we have to restart the whole machine.

Have you ever encountered this kind of problem?
Is their any debug setting that I can add to trouble shoot this issue?

Not to sound textbook, but reinstall BES.
Or if you have and it hasn't fixed it, reinstall Domino.

When you do the upgrades on BES, there is a point where it seems like it is stuck/stopped, you just have to let it run its course, I have seen it take minutes to hours.
Many people restart the server thinking it stuck.

This is how we resolved it.
Don't recall if I posted about all the foibles.
The other option is to recreate the main file in BES which in a large installation is not always practical.

You can ping me for more help.

You can certainly increase the log levels for the BES itself from within the BlackBerry configuration app, as you will see much more there than is passed through to the Domino log.nsf.

In the meantime, I might recommend that you look at the MAGT (Messaging Agent) BES log asit's doing the majority of the heavy lifting.

I observed the same problem in some cases, when mails with inline graphics arrived. After installing MR3 the problem disappeared and BES runs like a charme

Make sure you have the latest fix packs. We had the same issue and one day I downloaded all the fix packs, installed them one by one and it's been running great for a few months now.

As mentioned go to 4.1.6 MR3 (or MR4 which will be available in a few day of not already).

Make sure BES Domino is the exact same version and FP as your mail server.
